Hampden Registration Hurry

As the summer approaches, another season of world class athletics in the UK is just around the corner. With the news that the Sainsbury’s Glasgow Grand Prix, part of the prestigious IAAF Diamond League, will be held at Hampden Park in July there is even more reason for athletics fans from Scotland and the rest of the UK to be excited before the Commonwealth Games come to the Scottish city.

Following on from the success of the Sainsbury’s Anniversary Games last year, where tickets sold out in an unprecedented 75 minutes, the Sainsbury’s Glasgow Grand Prix will take place at the iconic Hampden Park venue on 11-12 July. The event is expected to be another sell out but with registration for priority ticketing information open until Wednesday 26 March, you can ensure you don’t miss your chance to be there by clicking here now.

Double world and Olympic champion Mo Farah has confirmed that he will line up in Glasgow, as will Great Britain’s most successful ever female athlete, reigning world champion and British 400m record holder Christine Ohuruogu. Local girl Eilidh Child will also be in attendance and all three British stars will be looking to win valuable Diamond Race points at what is the ninth of the 14-meet IAAF Diamond League series.

Prior the Hampden event, the Sainsbury’s Summer Series gets underway in Birmingham, with the Sainsbury’s British Championships taking place at the Alexander Stadium on 27-29 June. This event will see the best domestic talent go head-to-head in a bid to be crowned British Champion, whilst at the same time vying for places on the GB & NI team for the European Championships in August.

Later in the year world class athletics will return to the West Midlands on 24-25 August for
the Sainsbury’s Birmingham Grand Prix and Sainsbury’s IPC Grand Prix Final, as an array of Olympic and Paralympic stars light up the bank holiday weekend.
