The UKA selection policy has been announced for this year’s European Team Championships.
The event – which is the successor to the annual European Cup competition – will see the Super8 pilot event at Cardiff Athletics Stadium on Wednesday 10 June as the final competition opportunity for athletes to impress selectors before the Aviva Great Britain & Northern Ireland team is chosen the following day.
The Aviva GB & NI’s men’s team won last year’s final European Cup in Annecy, France, whilst the GB & NI women’s team placed third. This year will see a combined men’s and women’s team take part in the first ever European Team Championships against eleven other premier European nations. The inaugural event takes place in Leiria, Portugal 20-21 June.
