Farah Targets 5000m Record

European Indoor 3000m champion Mo Farah has been given special permission to miss this weekend’s Aviva UK Championships and World Trials in Birmingham in order to focus on a record bid on at the Aviva London Grand Prix on 24/25 July.

Farah is training at altitude at St Moritz, Switzerland with a group of Kenyan athletes to prepare for a tilt at David Moorcroft’s 27 year old UK 5000m record of 13:00.41 at the Crystal Palace meeting. He will return to the UK on 22 July.
