aviva GB&NI CE Selections

UKA today reveal two strong Aviva GB&NI Combined Events teams which will travel to the European CE Cup to be held on 27-28 June.

The small teams will travel separately to men’s and women’s events held in Zaragoza, Spain and Szczecin, Poland respectively.

Decathletes Ben Hazell (Basingstoke & Mid Hants) and Kevin Sempers (Trafford), who ended 2008 ranked second and third in the UK respectively, feature in the men’s line-up. Joining them are Roger Skedd (City of Sheffield) and Ed Dunford (Birchfield),

The women’s team, which includes international multi-event regulars Phyllis Agbo (Thames Valley) and Grace Clements (Dartford), finished in fifth place overall at the event last year. Agbo was GB&NI’s top placer with 12^th, followed closely by Clements in 14^th.

They are joined by Lucy Boggis (Shaftesbury Barnet) and Catherine Holdsworth (Colchester)- all four athletes were ranked top five for the heptathlon in the UK last year.
