GB&NI MOUNTAIN RUNNING TEAM

Walsh returns to GB&NI line-up

UKA today name senior and junior Aviva GB&NI teams which will compete at the 8th European Mountain Running Championships (uphill) in Telfes im Stubai, Austria on 12 July 2009.

Katie Ingram (Horwich) returns to the GB&NI team following a ninth place individual finish last year at the Championships which were held in Germany. She also led the women’s team to first place.

GB&NI’s highest placing athlete in the men’s senior field last year, James Walsh (Leeds City who finished in 23rd, returns to the men’s senior line up.

The Junior men’s team includes 2008 team member Ricky Challinor (Liverpool Harriers) who finished 24th last year with 39.07.

UKA will send a strong Junior women’s team in an effort to emulate their predecessors who finished third at the event last year.
