GB&NI MOUNTAIN RUNNING TEAM

UKA today name senior and junior Aviva GB&NI teams which will compete at the 8^th European Mountain Running Championships (uphill) in Telfes im Stubai, Austria on 12 July 2009.

Katie Ingram (Horwich) returns to the GB&NI team following a ninth place individual finish last year at the Championships which were held in Germany. She also led the women’s team to first place.

GB&NI’s highest placing athlete in the men’s senior field last year, James Walsh (Leeds City who finished in 23^rd, returns to the men’s senior line up.

The Junior men’s team includes 2008 team member Ricky Challinor (Liverpool Harriers) who finished 24^th last year with 39.07.

UKA will send a strong Junior women’s team in an effort to emulate their predecessors who finished third at the event last year.
