UKA today confirmed that Callum Priestley has been provisionally suspended from all competition and the World Class Performance Programme following an adverse analytical finding that constitutes an anti-doping rule violation under IAAF Rule 32.2 (a).

Priestley has been suspended under IAAF rules following the results of a B sample analysis that indicated the presence of clenbuterol and has been charged by UK Anti-Doping with having committed an anti-doping rule violation.

The suspension follows an out-of-competition test in South Africa in January.

The athlete now has the opportunity to respond to the charge against him, including the right to a full hearing of the case. UK Anti-Doping is tasked with overseeing the UK anti-doping programme and has authority for results management in the UK, fully supported by the rules of the IAAF and UKA.

If found guilty the athlete will face a two year ban.

UKA Chief Executive Niels de Vos said: "I am hugely disappointed that there has been a failed test. UKA continues to give 100% support to the work of UK Anti Doping  and we maintain our full commitment to drug free sport.”
