IAU TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT

UKA today announced athletes selected for the Aviva Great Britain and Northern Ireland team which will travel to the uniquely combined IAU 24hr World and European Championships on 13-14 May in Brive-La-Gaillarde, France.

Veteran runner John Pares, who finished 2009 top of the 24hr rankings, heads up the men’s team which also includes Stephen Mason, who gained valuable international experience at the IAU 24H World Challenge & 24H European Championships held in Italy last May.

Sharon Gayter has started 2010 with no less than ten 5k outings, with eight top three finishes to boast. While Marie Doke and Pauline Walker join the team with an impressive 2009 track record including top ten finishes at the Commonwealth 24 Hours Championships.
