The first group of athletes chosen to be involved in the new UKA Futures Race Walking Training Group descended on the UK National Race Walking Centre at Leeds Met Carnegie on 7th and 8th of November to take part in an unqiue training camp.
The weekend was the first in a series of regular training camps for the the programme, which is run jointly between UK Athletics and Leeds Met Carnegie, and has been hailed as a huge success by all involved.
The 4 year talent development programme designed to help develop race walking talent and maximise the number of athletes on both Junior and Senior race walking international teams in forthcoming years.
Athletes selected for Year 1 of the programme are:

The next UK Futures Training Camp will take place in the New Year.
