5 October 2009

UKA have announced a reformed World Class Performance Programme selection policy as the sport prepares to embark on the 2009/2010 season.

This is the first policy that has been developed under the leadership of Charles van Commenee, Peter Eriksson and Kevin Tyler and will decide which athletes will benefit from lottery funding on the WCPP.

Athletes will have a very clear idea about who will be considered and why and can gain automatic selection to the programme through a very clear set of criteria.

Selectors will focus on those athletes who do not meet this automatic entry but who will clearly contribute to UKA’s World Class ambitions.

The 2009/2010 World Class Performance Programme selection policy can now be found on the UKA website at the following link http://www.uka.org.uk/world-class/.
