Woods To Lose 5000m Silver

ParalympicsGB wheelchair racer Shelly Woods is expected to have her silver medal taken away, following a late decision by the IPC to re-run the women’s T54 5000m.

Woods who narrowly escaped a crash that affected half the field at 500m to go, finished strongly to take the silver medal.

But appeals by countries whose racers were taken out of the race by the crash were upheld and the race is scheduled to be re-run on Friday morning.
