McCain has partnered with UK Athletics to find and nurture the champions of tomorrow through our £5 million sponsorship of grassroots athletics with the goal of raising the profile of athletics and inspiring families to get involved and more active.
As title sponsor of the McCain Young Athletes League and the McCain UK Challenge events we’ve chosen to support young UK athletes at a “grassroots” level as they work to achieve their potential.
We’ll provide funding to train and support over 150,000 competitors and supporters at local athletics clubs via the Young Athletes League. And we’ll enable 15,000 young athletes to compete against their peers in the 56 annual events that make up the UKA McCain UK Challenge Series.
For people interested in being more active but who wouldn’t yet consider themselves athletes, we’re proud to announce the launch of, “Track & Field”.
This is a nationwide campaign that will make athletics more accessible to more people via a series of family-friendly road-shows, Track & Field Days and athletics club sessions managed and run by UK Athletics.
The Track & Field Days will be hosted by Olympic champion Sally Gunnell and will give people a chance to consider athletics in a different light.
