Classification

Classification is a vital part of disability athletics to ensure fair competition. All athletes who have received an appointment time are required to be classified in order to compete at Crystal Palace. We have worked with IPC to ensure that this can happen in London in conjunction with the UKA Disability Athletics Challenge.

This is a great opportunity for athletes to be seen by the IPC Panel and we are very pleased to welcome two full IPC Panels to the UK for this competition.

The classifiers need to see athletes at their appointment time and also in competition. A small number of athletes have received information asking to be seen in competition on Saturday morning. This is due to the numbers involved in this competition and to ensure that the classifiers have a chance to see every athlete in competition. This event will take place at:

·         Norman Park Athletics Track, Norman Park, Hayes Lane, Bromley, BR2 9EF

You should have received your classification information which includes your appointment time. The information is as follows:

Venue:                 PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF VENUE

                                Jury’s Inn, Croydon

                                Wellesley Road

 INFORMATION

You need to arrive for classification a minimum of 15 minutes before your appointment time

Please bring with you all relevant medical information

If you do not attend classification you will not be eligible to compete at this competition

Due to the schedule that the classifiers are working within, we are not able to offer a different appointment time

If you are assessed and it is found that you are not eligible under an IPC Classification, you will not be permitted to compete at this competition. For more information about remaining involved in athletics and the options that are available to you please contact Marie (myates@uka.org.uk)
