Disability Testing
UK Athletics conducts testing of athletes with a disability on behalf of the British Paralympic Association (BPA). The BPA is affiliated to the IPC - the International Federation for Disability Athletics.
UKA has adopted Anti-Doping Rules for disability athletics based on the IPC Anti-Doping Code. These rules are compliant with the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA).
Athletes selected for out-of-competition testing will be informed of their selection before they become liable for testing. These athletes will then be provided with full information about the testing programme including the sample collection procedures and their right for special assistance or equipment, if appropriate. They are requested to provide appropriate testing slots when they will be available for testing and are advised how they can advise us of changes to their whereabouts information. A leaflet giving full information on the sample collection procedures has been produced by UKAD (complimentary copies are available on request).
Whereabouts information is collected by UKAD who conduct the sample collection, arrange for the transportation and analysis of the sample, and advise UKA of the result of the analysis, on behalf of UKA.
