Ryan Murphy – Commercial Director

 

 

 

 

 

Ryan joined UK Athletics in 2008. Before this he headed up ticketing and retail at Derby County FC achieving record sales during their Premier League season and before that worked at Birmingham City FC.

He oversaw the digitalisation of UK Athletics’ ticketing and CRM processes as the major events series of international athletics events were brought in-house. The move of venue to the London stadium in 2013 saw him lead the organisation’s marketing strategy leading to a record-breaking three-day sell out at the Anniversary Games in 2013.

As lead for Commercial sales over the years he has worked closely with brands including Aviva, Sainsbury’s, the National Lottery, Nike and most recently the sport’s hugely successful tie-up with Muller. Key areas:

  • Expert commentary on commercial partnerships and the changing priorities of sport sponsorships over the last decade.
  • Ticketing strategy and use of CRM to best drive sales to major sporting events.
  • Broadcast partnerships and the changing landscape of free to air/pay per view/OTT solutions.
