The Development Directorate provides the strategic direction and governance across the sport of athletics in the UK, for the following areas (click on the links for further information):

While overseeing the successful and seamless connectivity of athletics development in collaboration with the Home Country Athletics Federations (HCAFs), focusing on:

  • Participation;
  • Club networks and systems;
  • School and education curriculum.

 Responsible for the servicing of the Domestic Oversight Group bringing together staff and leaders of technical advisory groups – encompassing core areas of:

  • Coaching & coach development;
  • Off-Track & endurance;
  • Officials development;
  • Track and Field Management;
  • Facilities Management.

To collaborate on the development and implementation of new sports development initiatives across the athletics landscape in partnership with the HCAFs at both national and local level in the voluntary, educational and commercial sectors.
