Welfare & Safeguarding– YAG members have been working with the UKA Welfare Panel to improve the information that is available to clubs and young athletes. They are providing guidance on the best way to interact with young people, and how to raise awareness of the UKA Welfare team amongst young people.
Equality & Diversity – The Youth Advisory Group have helped UKA to work towards achievement of the national Equality standard, and have signed up to support the Sport Charter, which promotes fairness and inclusion in sport.
Officials Conference – A number of YAG members were in attendance at the recent UKA Officials Conference, to deliver a workshop session specifically for young officials. Focussing on goal setting, mentoring and accessing support structures, the workshop was extremely successful, with similar sessions planned for future conferences.
European Youth Forum – European Athletics are currently planning their Youth Forum. As part of this process, they are working with some of our members to plan the content and make sure it is appropriate for the young people who are attending.
Volunteering – A number of YAG members are actively supporting major events, including Championships and the Diamond League events in the UK.
