European champion Rhys Williams (Adrian Thomas) won in a fast 49.11 to go top of the McCain Power of Ten rankings. This was his fastest time for three years and was well inside the World Championships A standard of 49.40.

Birmingham Open, May 8

Katrina Wootton (Harvey Rose) was the fastest women's 3000m runner in 9:02.15, which missed the fastest outdoor time in Britain by a single hundredth of a second.

Rhys Williams (Adrian Thomas) followed up his fast 400m hurdles midweek with a win in 50.03.

IAAF world junior finalist Chijindu Ujah (Jonas Tawiah-Dodoo) won the B 100m in 10.45 into a strong 2.3m/s headwind to go top of the McCain Power of Ten under 20 men's rankings.

2011 World Championships discus finalist Brett Morse (Andy Britton) had one of his best ever throws when he won with 64.97m, putting him top of the McCain Power of Ten rankings and it bettered the IAAF World Championships B standard of 64.00m

Steeplechaser Zak Seddon again showed good 1500m speed as he finished 11th in a personal best 3:45.47 to again better the European Junior Championships qualifying standard of 3:47.00

Grande Premio Brasil Caixa de Atletismo, Belém, Brazil, May 12

Abigail Irozuru (Frank Attoh) jumped a season's best 6.36m in the long jump to clim to sixth in the McCain Power of 10 rankings.

Jade Nicholls threw 55.79m to go top of the women's discus rankings.

Montgeron, May 12

Jodie Williams, the former World Youth and World Junior champion, had her first race of 2013 after an injury ravaged 2012 and won over the rarely run distance of 250m by over two seconds in 30.33.

Olympic sprinter Anyika Onoura (Rana Reider) won the 100m in 11.57/-0.5 after a 11.53/1.4 heat. The latter puts her second in the McCain Power of ten rankings.
