28 November 2014

Linda Low recently won the ‘Coach Developer of the Year Award’ at the Sport Coaching UK National Awards Ceremony in Glasgow.

Low has been a leading member of the British Athletics Coach Education national trainer team for over ten years. She has played an integral part in the system including course design and development, workforce training for tutors and assessors, and the continued quality assurance of the workforce.

As a well-known figure to the tutor workforce, Low plays a role in each stage of a tutors selection and development. She has delivered many Initial Tutor Training sessions during her career which is a requirement for all tutors who wish to deliver on the Coach Education programmes. Alongside this, Low has a significant role in setting the national standards for tutors and tutor training.

After winning her award, Low, who also works on coach education development for the Rugby Football League (RFL) said; “This award is a very special honour for me. It recognises the work that I have done in delivering across a number of coach education programmes”.

Over the last twelve months, Low and her colleagues in the Coach Education trainer team have redeveloped our formal courses in response to the findings of the Coach Education Review. Linda was part of the team which delivered a Coach Education roadshow series over the summer to orientate the coach education workforce into the changes and launching the future vision of “Competence to Excellence in Coach Education”.
