Southern Athletics League Division One, Bromley 

Cheriece Hylton (coach: John Blackie) won the 100m for Blackheath and Bromley with a new personal best of 12.02.  The European junior 400m silver medallist also won the 200m in 23.94 at the Bromley Southern Athletics League Division Onemeeting.



Scottish Athletics Senior Championships, Falkirk 

In the Scottish Senior Championships in Aberdeen, Andrew Butchart (Derek Eastern), Central AC, became the Scottish 5000m champion but narrowly missed out on the 1500m crown an hour later with local runner Myles Edwards claiming the gold in a thrilling final.

Alisha Rees (Willy Russell) took the senior 200m title at the age of 16 – just a couple of weeks before heading to the Commonwealth Youth Games with Scotland.

In the 400mH, Jack Lawrie (John Macdonald) took the title with a run of 51.69 for the Pitreavie AAC athlete who was fourth in Sweden at the Euro U20 championships last month.

Zoey Clark (Eddie McKenna) won the women’s 400m and youngster Inverness-raised Kirsty Law (John Godina) bettered Meg Ritchie’s record of seven discus title wins with her eighth win. 

In the 800m Jake Wightman (Geoff Wightman)secured victory with National cross country  champion Maddie Murray (John Lees) taking the 1500m. 


Midlands Counties U13/15/17 Championships, Birmingham 

At the Midland Counties age group championships, Agnes McTighe (Paul Hawkins) of Stratford on Avon won the U15 3000m in 9:28.35, fastest ever by a European athlete of her age in a women’s only race.


South of England AA U15/17 Championships 

Finally at the Southern Counties age group championships in Ashford, Holly Mills (James Coney) of Andover took the U17 long jump with PB 6.29m.
