Jonnie Peacock
11 September 2015

The final IAAF Diamond League of the season gets underway tonight in Brussels with a number of British athletes finishing their season in the Belgian capital.

Jonnie Peacock (coach: Steve Fudge) will go up against arch rival Richard Browne in the T44 100m, with the Paralympic, world and European champion looking to gain his first victory over his American counterpart in two years.

2015 world finalist and British record holder Tiffany Porter (Rana Reider) returns to the track in a hotly contested 100m hurdles, where she will face the three fastest women in the event this year – Sharika Nelvis, Jasmin Stowers and Dawn Harper-Nelson.

World semi-finalist Chijindu Ujah (Jonas Tawiah-Dodoo) will also look to produce his best form, as the 9.96 man goes head-to-head with four athletes, who made the 100m final at the recent IAAF World Championships in Beijing including silver medallist and world leader Justin Gatlin.

Jodie Williams (Christine Bowmaker), who was a part of the 4x100m team in Beijing which cruised to a new British record, will have the reigning world and Olympic champions for company in the 200m. Dafne Schippers recorded the third fastest time in history on her way to winning world gold in the Far East, while London 2012 gold medallist Allyson Felix claimed the 400m title to take her tally to an astonishing nine world titles.

British outdoor record holder Isobel Pooley (Fuzz Ahmed) will make her fifth appearance on the IAAF Diamond League circuit in the women’s high jump alongside Russia’s world gold and bronze medallist Mariya Kuchina and Anna Chicherova.

There will be a trio of British athletes in the men’s 1500m, with Chris O’Hare (Terrence Mahon), Tom Lancashire (Steve Vernon) and Dale Clutterbuck all looking to show their end of season form.
