2020 Lindsay Dunn

UK Athletics is saddened to hear of the passing of internationally renowned endurance coach, Lindsay Dunn.

Lindsay was regarded as a giant amongst coaches in Britain and was one of a group of individuals in the North East, responsible for strengthening the quality and depth of endurance running in the region.

Most notably, he coached Charlie Spedding to Commonwealth Games a bronze medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, the first medal won by a Briton in the event for 20 years, the same year that Spedding won the London marathon.

Lindsay will be remembered by all the athletes he coached, his friends and colleagues as one of the greats of British endurance coaching.

The thoughts of all at UKA are with Lindsay’s family and friends at this time.
