A lot has happened since my last blog, I ran a 50.51s relay leg in the 4x400m at the European Team Championships in Bergen and won the Aviva UK National trials in Birmingham which means I’m going to the Europeans as National Champion which is great! It’s nice to know that all those endurance sessions during winter training are paying off and that shows in my performances. I wasn’t able to improve my PB at the trials but my coach was pleased with how I ran.

Following the trials I was invited to race at the Diamond League meet in Gateshead - the Aviva British Grand Prix where I finished 4th behind eventual winner Kaliese Spencer who’s ranked 2nd in the Diamond League standings. It would have been nice to place higher but in a strong field, it was good preparation for the Europeans and it gave me further race experience against athletes I’m aiming to beat in the long run.

Currently, I'm sat in my hotel room in Monte Gordo, Portugal, where I’m doing final preparations in our training camp prior to the European Championships. The weathers lovely out here and we’re extremely fortunate to be staying in a really nice resort which always helps when relaxing after a hard days training.

I've not got long left out here though as I leave for Barcelona on Saturday where it gets down to business. Whilst I’ve enjoyed the weather, resort and the training here in Portugal, Barcelona is where it gets serious and I'll be hoping to perform to my best and make my family, friends and all of Great Britain proud.

speak soon!
