So, happy new year to everyone. Is it too late to say that? Well its well under way anyway, with the new season of 24 it must have officially begun. It seems Man-U have got the work cut out this season if they are going to win anything but I still have faith, with the likes of Rooney and Giggs to save the day.

Well, while some of the finest UK athletes have been catching some rays and training hard in South Africa, the rest of us have been braving the cold and the indoor season is well under way.

I have to admit I was very jealous to miss out on trip to the country I was born, but I’m glad they all enjoyed it, and I hope they all enjoyed a few trips to mug and bean. Anyone who has ever been to South Africa will know what I’m talking about ;)

It took me a few comps to find my grove on the longer poles with a 4.32 start to the season followed by a 4.40 but then in Wuppertal, Germany I shocked myself by breaking the British record with a 4.57m, which is not really the Dennison way, (usually just adding 1cm at time) but actually but this time I actually added 8cm to my old indoor British record. But hopefully lots more still to come.

Obviously my main aim for the indoor season will be the World indoor champs in Doha in the middle of March, but I still have lots more stops on the way, including the Aviva World Trials in Sheffield on the 13th February, and hopefully the Aviva Grand Prix in Birmingham the weekend after.

Anyways, I am looking forward to a jam-packed indoors and the challenges that lie ahead. So until next time... bye for now!
