Officiating Award For Cameron

8 December 2014

Angus Cameron won the Technical Officer of the Year award last week at the sportscotland Coaching, Officiating and Volunteering Awards 2014.

Cameron has been an active athletics official for more than forty years and serves athletics at all levels from local meetings to the Olympic Games. He has provided dedicated service and officiated at local track and field, road and cross country events for both mainstream and disability sport since the 1970s, including working at the Commonwealth Games in his home country this summer.

Angus has been a passionate supporter of athletics all his life and has volunteered his time to supporting the work of the Scottish Athletics Officials Commission as well as the UK Athletics peer group for starters and marksmen. He uses his wealth of experience to mentor up and coming technical officials and supports them in the competition arena.

He was recognised for his services and honoured as a Queen’s Baton relay bearer in the lead up to Glasgow 2014.
