With outdoor track meetings starting to increase, Richard Kilty (coach: Linford Christie) showed world class form in America.

Guernsey Easter cross-country & Easter Relay, April 7/8

Stephanie Twell (Mick Woods) made her usual Easter pilgrimage to Guernsey, although her Aldershot contingent missed the previous day’s 10km due to flight problems.

Finishing behind four Aldershot men, Twell was first woman and fifth overall in the 4.8 mile cross -country in 25:57.

She also participated in the following day’s two mile cross-country relay and was fifth fastest with a time of 10:39

Sun Angel Classic, Tempe, USA, April 7

Richard Kilty (Linford Christie) recorded lifetime best performances at 100m and 200m with times of 10.23 (0.3m/s) and 20.50 (0.0m/s) respectively to go top of the McCain Power of Ten rankings in both events. The 200m is an Olympic A standard, bettering the 20.51 mark, while the 100m is a B standard, just inside the 10.24 set time.

Laura Turner (Christie) went top of the women’s 100m rankings with her 11.47 (0.0m/s) victory.

Florida Relays, Gainesville, USA, April 6

British 100mh record holder Tiffany Porter (James Henry) now heads the McCain POT rankings with her opening outdoor race of 2012. She timed 12.96 (-0.5m/s).

Welwyn, April 6

Nicholas Percy (William Bushnell) now leads the McCain POT under-20 discus rankings as he won in a PB 52.24m.

Norwich, April 6

Callum Brown (Lorraine Brown) won the under-20 hammer in 69.83m with clubmate Michael Painter (John Painter) just behind in a PB of 69.22m to go third in the McCain POT rankings. Brown already lies second.

Palo Alto, April 6

Lennie Waite (Jim Bevan) not only went top of the McCain POT rankings in with victory in the 3000m steeplechase in a PB of 9:48.35, but at this early stage of the season it’s also the fastest time in the world so far. It just missed the Olympic B standard of 9:48.00.

Sarah Waldron (David Sunderland) took over a minute off her 10,000m PB when she finished fourth in 32:36.07, also a McCain POT ranking topping performance. The Olympic B standard is 32:10.00.

Matthew Bond (Norman Poole) won the B 10,000m race in 29:08.69 to take over half a minute off his PB and go top of the rankings.

Salford 10km, April 6

North of England cross-country champion Lizzie Adams (Bashir Hussain) took over a minute off her 10k PB to win in 32:50 to go second in the McCain POT rankings. Top ranked Elle Baker (David Turnbull) finished second in 33:09, compared to her 32:42 in Manchester last month.
