The Recruitment Process

We will endeavour to respond to all applications within a week of the closing date. Where we receive high numbers of applicants this may not always be possible, so if you do not hear from us within four weeks of the closing date please assume that on this occasion your application has been unsuccessful.

Where we also receive high numbers of applications we reserve the right to bring forward the closing date of the application, so please apply early if you are interested in a role. UK Athletics has a formal process for recruitment and selection in order to ensure all candidates are treated without undue bias.

All staff involved in the interviewing process are first trained by Human Resources in the Equality Act, other essential employment law and best practice in interviewing and selection. Depending on the nature of the role you may be asked to prepare a presentation for the interview or to complete an unseen task on the day. We will make available a laptop and projector/television where appropriate. Interviews will usually be lead by the recruiting manager, with support from Senior Managers, Human Resources or Team Members as appropriate. Interviews typically last an hour and will comprise of competency and behavioural based questions. We will endeavour to respond to you within two working days of the final interview. If, for any reason, a decision cannot be made in this time we will contact you to let you know as much, and when you can expect to hear from us.

If you have any questions about any part of the process, or if we can make any adjustments to the process to suit your needs, then please contact the HR Team at recruitment@uka.org.uk or call 0121 713 8467.
