The Athletes’ Commission provides an independent channel for international athletes to share insight, raise priorities and contribute to the development of the sport. The Commission advises the UKA Board and Performance Team on key issues that affect the athlete experience, from performance environments and welfare to opportunities and pathways.
Andrew Pozzi has recently been announced as the new Chair of the UKA Athletes’ Commission. Andrew, the 2018 world athletics indoor 60m hurdles champion with deep experience of the high-performance system, takes on the role at an important moment as the Commission enters a new phase of work to strengthen the representation and influence of athlete voices across the organisation.
As Chair, Andrew will lead this work and play an enhanced role in ensuring athlete views are present in UKA’s governance structures, including attending UKA Board meetings to reflect the perspectives of competing athletes directly. He will support the continued development of the Commission’s remit and help guide its membership through the next stage of activity. This includes deeper engagement with UKA leadership and a renewed focus on ensuring that athletes feel connected, represented and heard within the national governing body.
