WORLD ATHLETICS ATHLETE REPRESENTATIVES

Only approved UKA Athlete Representatives can make an application to become an World Athletics Athlete Representative.

Athletes may use the services of an Athletes’ Representative (AR) to assist them in the negotiation of their athlete, contracts and competition programme. World Athletics has established that athletes ranked in the top 30 of the World Athletics, world list (of their respective event) may only use the services of an World Athletics Authorised Athletes’ Representative.

Athletes that are not in the World Athletics Top 30 list are also allowed to use the services of any Authorised Athlete Representative. In order to become a World Athletics Authorised Athlete Representative individuals are asked to undergo an evaluation process which will take place in December every two years. The process will be based around establishing the education and knowledge in key areas of the sport of Athletics and of the Athlete Representative activity in particular.

The evaluation (examination) is in English and will consist of 48 multiple questions where a pass rate of 75% is required. Candidates for the evaluation are only accepted by World by application from UK Athletics.
