2011 LEvel 3 And 4 Officials Course Dates

The Level 3 and Level 4 course dates for 2011 have been confirmed as the 15th and 16th of October 2011. 

The Level 3 course will take place on Saturday 15th October at UKA Offices and will include all disciplines – Starter/Marking, Timekeeping, Photofinish, Track Judging, Field Judging and the respective technology module for each discipline (False Start Equipment, Photofinish, Electonic Distance Measurement).

The cost of the Level 3 course is £30 for the full course including Generic module, Discipline Module and Technology Module.

Level 4

The Level 4 course will take place on Sunday 16th October 2011 at UKA Offices and will include all the level 4 modules – Management and Leadership, Mentoring and Assessment, Call Room, Disability Track, Disability Field, TIC and Meeting Manager.

The cost of the Level 4 course will be £50 for the full course.  This will include all modules and these can be taken over different course programmes.  For officials not wishing to work towards level 4 but who wish to complete individual modules for personal development the cost per module will be £15.

Who can become a Level 4?

Level 5 Officials who have been on the National Active List for at least 3 years and have attended the relevant level 3 modules. Level 3 National Officials who have been on the National Active List for at least 3 years (this timescale can be rescinded in exceptional circumstances).

However, Officials at all levels can attend modules of the level 4 course to further their development as an official.

What is the Level 4 course?

There are 3 compulsory modules; Management and Leadership, Mentoring and Disability (either Track or Field). There are also 4 optional modules of which two should be completed; Meeting Manager, Call Room, TIC, Disability (the module not covered as compulsory).
