On a scorching day at the Newham track, the British Athletics Parallel Success meeting saw many fine displays including a personal best over 400m for Kare Adenegan (coach: Job King).

Coming just a few weeks after a first ever sub two-minute 800m, Adenegan continued her strong form as she powered to a 60.44 clocking over the one lap distance. Going out hard, the T34 Paralympic and world medallist found some significant speed in the closing stages to come close to her first ever sub 60 time.

She added to her 400m PB with an 18.03 (-0.6) time in the 100m, equalling her season’s best in the process. In the 800m, she pushed well over the first lap but the pace slightly dropped on the second lap as she went solo to a 2:02.79 time.

After a supreme Swiss series earlier this month, Richard Chiassaro (Jenni Banks) continued his impressive streak with some solid times. The T54 800m has been the event to watch so far this year – Chiassaro set a world record in Nottwil which has since been lowered even further by American Daniel Romanchuk. Today he was outside his own mark as he hit the front on his own early on, recording a time of 1:32.06. Times of 46.25 and 14.83 (+0.9) came in the 400m and 100m respectively.

Dillon Labrooy won the men’s T54 1500m in 3:09.23 ahead of JohnBoy Smith in 3:12.06.

World champion Sophie Kamlish (Rob Ellchuk) recorded a season’s best in heat one of the ambulant 100m, clocking a time of 13.42 (+1.3). The race was won by Esme O’Connell – the T20 athlete winning is 13.33.

Commonwealth T47 100m silver medallist James Arnott (Ryan Freckleton) won the first heat of the ambulant 100m in 11.42 (+0.5). also in that race, world T35 100m medallist Jordan Howe (Christian Malcolm) recorded a time of 12.74.

Stef Reid (Aston Moore) leaped a best of 4.97m in the long jump competition as world T20 finalist Martina Barber completed the competition with a best of 4.96m.

In the men’s equivalent, T11 athlete Amir Sarvestani leapt a season’s best of 6.09m, much to his delight with Karim Chan (Femi Akinsanya) going to 6.04m.

Also out in the field, Vanessa Wallace (Alison O’Riordan) was delighted to throw a season’s best of 7.28m, backing that up with three further attempts over the seven metre barrier.

F44 thrower Harrison Walsh threw the furthest of the comeptition with 14.61m putting over a metre on his previous best.
