ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS...

24 December 2013

Robbie Grabarz (coach: Fuzz Ahmed) is hoping Father Christmas will bring him curtains!

The Olympic bronze medallist has recently bought a house and he’s hoping for a helping hand from Santa to help him putting the finishing touches to his new abode.

“I’m looking forward to Christmas,” said Grabarz.

“It’s been a really nice winter leading into Christmas this year. I’ve got a few days away with my family, a day of training on Christmas Eve and then its Christmas Day so time to relax a bit.

“I’ve just bought a house so I’ve asked for curtains – really boring!”

While the majority of the country is indulging in festive treats, Grabarz admits he has to be slightly careful.

“As long as I don’t miss training and I come back not much heavier than when I left then that’s alright,” he added.

With the Glasgow British Athletics International Match on the horizon in the New Year, the European champion has his sights set on repeating his 2012 form in 2014.

“The aim is to improve again and have a year like 2012 rather than 2013. I’ve looked after my body better this winter so I’m hoping for some high jumps again which will be fantastic.

“I do really look forward to Glasgow. It’s a nice one to open the season with every year. It’s not going to be an easy competition as there’s always tough competition there and it’s a good fun event.”
