ASHA PHILIP APPOINTED TO EUROPEAN ATHLETICS ATHLETES COMMISSION

Asha Philip has been appointed to the European Athletics Athletes Commission following the election process at the recent European Championships in Munich.

The Committee will comprise of eight members, six elected by the competitors at the European Athletics Championships and two appointed by the European Athletics President.

To compose a strong committee and to truly hear the wishes of the athletes, the President of European Athletics completed the committee with the fourth most voted woman and the fourth most voted man, which were Asha Philip (GBR) and Oleksiy Kasyanov (UKR).

Philip has been an integral member of the British 4x100m relay team for a number of years, winning 12 medals for GB & NI and England during her career to date. The two-time Olympic medallist won her first cap for the British team at the World Junior Championships in Beijing in 2006.

During her athletics career to date, Philip has won medals at Olympic, World and European level; in 2017 she won the European indoor 60m title in Prague.
