Following the announcement of the creation of an ‘Athletes’ Commission’ at the end of March, UK Athletics has today taken the next step towards making the formation of the Commission a reality, with the first step of the submission of nominations timetable, the invitation to submit nominations, beginning from today and going through to its closing date of Thursday 15 June.

Following the decision to form the Commission, UK Athletics have endeavoured to compile an email address database of all athletes who have competed on a British Athletics team within the past six years and meet all of the remaining criteria (covered under “Nominations for Membership of Athletes Commission” within the Election Process document).

Emails are being sent to this database; therefore, we urge athletes and non-athletes who fit the eligibility criteria to check their email to ensure they are able to be involved in:

• The nomination process (Thursday 18 May – Thursday 15 June)
• The election process (Monday 26 June – Friday 28 July)

 If you are an eligible athlete and have not received an email by the end of the week, please direct a query to AthletesCommission@britishathletics.org.uk to request a nomination form.
