Athletics Action Ahead

30 May 2012

Some of Britain’s top athletes will feature in big meets abroad this week including two Diamond League events.

Rome should watch out for ‘pin-up’ Robbie Grabarz who recently did a naked shoot for Attitude magazine and has cropped his locks especially for the occasion. "Just got myself a fresh haircut at Smoothcutz #MoreShorter, ahead of my season opener tomorrow night in Rome," he tweeted earlier today.

Two British men’s relay teams will be in action also in Rome, and sounds as if training earlier this week went well with Harry AA tweeting, "gb relay practice today! HAND!!! love these sessions" and "great relay session done. excited for rome on thursday."

Sedbergh, Cumbria (McCain Mountain running Challenge) – Saturday 2 June

The next event in the series is this forthcoming weekend, held in conjunction with the European Championships trial races for senior and junior GBR teams. Also on offer will be home country selection for the home international being held as part of the new Karrimoor event in Keswick on 16 June.  With selection, prestige and prize money all on offer, early indications are for fierce battles in both men’s and woman’s races, where both Steve Vernon and Lizzie Adams will be looking to extend their winning records.
