The discipline specific technical workshop team for the forthcoming European Athletics Coaches Association (EACA) Conference in Glasgow on the 1st and 2nd of November has been completed with scottishathletics confirming that UK Jumps Expert Frank Attoh will lead the programme for jumps delegates.

Attoh, who recently returned from Beijing with Team GB, has a highly impressive reputation within the world of jumps coaching. A former international triple-jumper and former Amateur Athletics Association champion, his injury-enforced retirement led him into a new career in coaching which since 1982 has seen him gain international recognition as one of the world’s best.

Trecia Smith, Ashia Hansen, Mary Berkeley, Connie Henry, Yamile Aldama, Nadia Williams, Larry Achike, Francis Agyepong and Greg Rutherford are among the athletes who have benefited from Attoh’s coaching skills.

He completes a hugely impressive line up of presenters for the Glasgow event which also includes David Sunderland (Endurance), Toni Minichiello (Combined Events), Loren Seagrave (Sprints/Hurdles) and Robert Weir (Throws) in the event-specific workshops.

Keynote addresses over the weekend will be delivered by American coach Clyde Hart, who has coached a number of the world’s top athletes including Michael Johnson and Jeremy Wariner, Yannick Tregaro, who led Christian Olsson to Olympic triple jump gold in Athens in 2004, Zhong Bingshu, Director of the IAAF Regional Development Centre in Beijing and Vice-President of Beijing Sport University and Ken Porter, who has coached national team athletes in his native Canada, Australia and Great Britain.

A team of international experts will also join the workshops, and these names will be confirmed in early October.
