‘Olympic Dreams’ is a new BBC series which will follow the fortunes of Britain’s rising stars and medal hopes for London 2012 over the next five years.

The first five episodes will be transmitted on BBC 1 from Monday 12 November to Friday 16 November at 9.15am, featuring athletes from seven sports setting out on the long road to the Olympics.

The BBC billing says: “We share their hopes and fears, as they struggle through selection and competition to be the best. Through the gruelling training schedules, daily sacrifices, family pressures, injury worries, small victories and major crises, the weight of expectation and the darkness of self-doubt, we gain an intimate insight into what it means to dedicate yourself to an Olympic dream”.

Heptathlete Jessica Ennis represents athletics in this series and she will be featured in episodes three and four (Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th).
