BRITISH ATHLETICS SUPPORT TICKETS FOR TROOPS AT MÜLLER ANNIVERSARY GAMES

On Armed Forces Day, British Athletics and Tickets For Troops are delighted to announce 600 members of the British Armed Forces and their families have been invited to attend the world-class Müller Anniversary Games across the weekend of 20-21 July 2019.

British Athletics have supported Ticket For Troops for several years, and we are proud to once again invite Service Personnel to London to the only two-day meeting in the prestigious IAAF Diamond League calendar.

Many troops who benefit from the charity endure long periods of separation from their families due to operational tours and training exercises or living apart from their families during the week.

British Athletics Major Events Director, Cherry Alexander OBE, commented:

“We are delighted to be supporting Tickets For Troops and proud to provide a significant group of current Service personnel and their families with an opportunity to watch world-class athletics at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. We are honoured to have over 600 British Armed Forces members and families with us across the weekend, and everyone at British Athletics hope they enjoy the occasion together.”

William Campbell-Lamerton, Director of Operations at Tickets For Troops said:

“Athletics has been a massive supporter of Tickets For Troops since we launched and it is fantastic that British Athletics has maintained this level of generosity, especially for such a prestigious event like the Müller Anniversary Games, which celebrates when the UK hosted the greatest sporting event in the world. We are both delighted and grateful for their support.”

The Müller Anniversary Games has seen history made on numerous occasions in recent years, with some memorable performances from British names such as Sir Mo Farah, Laura Muir and Dina Asher-Smith, while para athletics stars Kare Adenegan and Sophie Hahn both broke world records at the 2018 edition of the event.
