British Athletics is today pleased to announce that it has teamed up with The Power of 10 to highlight the achievements of athletes who win national titles at this weekend’s Sainsbury’s Indoor British Championships.

Following on from 2014’s ‘Because it Matters’ campaign, athletes who secure a national title this weekend or at any other significant national championship shall receive a gold medal symbol against their name on www.thepowerof10.info

On this new initiative, Major Events Director Cherry Alexander commented:

“Whilst fast times and good distances/heights are important, we believe that winning a British title is a great honour and for some the highlight of their career. For that reason we wanted to reward those who achieve this impressive feat, and so hopefully the medal symbol will do just that.

“Many of the greats through the years have won multiple British titles and we want to ensure the new generation strive to follow in their footsteps.”
