We are delighted to announce that we have the opportunity to enter a British Athletics U20 team at the Manchester International on Wednesday 17^th August.

The Manchester International will provide U20 athletes with a fantastic opportunity to compete in a British Athletics vest following their successes during the 2016 season. British Athletics will use the competition as an opportunity to give young athletes further international experience following the 2016 season, as well as looking ahead to the 2017 European Junior Championships in Grosseto, Italy.

A full programme of events with junior implements and hurdles will be staged including the 110m hurdles. Endurance events will include 800m, a Mile, 2000m steeplechase and 3000m race walk for men and women.

Additionally, the Manchester International will form a part of the British Athletics Relay Programme so 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams will be selected with the aim of winning medals at the 2017 European Junior Championships.

One athlete per event will be selected following the IAAF World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz on the 19^th – 24^th July.

Selections will be based on performances during the 2016 outdoor season including (but not limited to) the European Youth Championships, World Junior Championships and the England U20 Championships.

Performances up until Monday 1st August will be considered during selection.

The team will be announced on Wednesday 10^th August.
