A large group of Aviva Great Britain and Northern Ireland athletes will head to Rome this Thursday (26 May) for the third instalment of the Samsung Diamond League.

The Golden Gala will see the largest British contingent ever at an oversees Diamond League event and will provide a preview of some of the stars set to compete in the Aviva Series this summer.

Shara Proctor will go in the women’s long jump, while Tiffany Porter (was Ofili) will race the likes of American Lolo Jones in the 100m hurdles.

Lisa Dobriksey makes her season’s debut on the track in the 1500m while Hatti Dean will compete in the 3000m steeplechase.

On the men’s side, World and European champion Phillips Idowu will begin his outdoor campaign in the triple jump and Michael Rimmer will look to build on his best ever start to a season as he takes on a high quality 800m field.

The 400m hurdles sees European and Commonwealth champion Dai Greene line up with Welsh rival Rhys Williams and in the 200m European silver medallist Christian Malcom and Commonwealth Champion Leon Baptiste will line up.
