15 June 2016

Two volunteers have recently been appointed to the UK Members Council (UKMC).

Anthony Clements will join the Members Council as a Celtic Nations Track & Field Clubs’ representative, whilst Ron Morrison will serve as an Off-track Clubs’ representative.

In joining the UKMC, both members will contribute to the planning and review of the UKA Strategic plan and help to ensure the successful outcomes of strategic objectives, whilst the presence of Celtic Nations representatives will ensure the viewpoints of the clubs they represent are taken into account.

Jason Gardener, UKMC President, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Anthony and Ron onto the UK Members Council. Both appointees are massively passionate about Athletics as a sport, and I’m sure the wealth of experience and knowledge they hold individually will significantly contribute to the on-going work of the UKMC.”

Speaking on his appointment, Celtic Nations representative Anthony Clements said: “I am delighted and honoured to have the opportunity to be part of UK Members Council, especially in the role of Celtic Nations track and field representative. Club track and field athletics is the bedrock to athletic success in the UK and I am confident that this role will complement the vast experience and knowledge that already exists within the Council.”

Newly-elected Off-track representative Ron Morrison added: “It’s a great honour to be joining the UK Members Council. Athletics has been a passion of mine for many years therefore the opportunity to play a part in its development and growth moving forward is a fantastic one.”
