CHRIS COHEN CONFIRMED AS TECHNICAL DELEGATE FOR GLASGOW 2026

Chris Cohen CBE has been appointed as the Technical Delegate for Athletics and Para Athletics at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, bringing decades of elite-level officiating experience to the role.

The appointment was confirmed by Commonwealth Sport and the Glasgow 2026 Organising Committee as part of the build-up to next summer’s event.

A familiar and highly respected figure in international athletics circles, Cohen has a key role in the Games, ensuring the delivery of a fair, world-class athletics competition across both non-disabled and Para events.

Cohen’s track record spans Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games, where he has played leading technical and officiating roles.

With Glasgow 2026 set to host a record-breaking Para sport programme – and the return of the iconic Commonwealth Mile in Athletics – Cohen is excited about what lies ahead: “The Games in Glasgow will be compact, dynamic and athlete-focused. I’m looking forward to working with a fantastic team to ensure every competitor has the platform to perform at their very best.”

Glasgow 2026 will take place from 23 July to 2 August, featuring 10 sports across the heart of the city.
