Cj's Christmas

25 December 2014

The festive spirit has yet to hit Chijindu Ujah  (coach: Jonas Tawiah-Dodoo) and his training group.

Yet come the big day when Father Christmas makes his annual appearance, Britain’s third fastest man ever will be revelling in the festivities with his family.

“I enjoy Christmas,” said Ujah. “It’s a nice time when the family get together and everyone enjoys being in each other’s company.

“I don’t really ask for Christmas presents. I’ve been buying presents for other people."

So what does the 9.96 sprinter do on Christmas day?

“I’ve trained twice this week and I’ve got Christmas day and Boxing Day off,” he revealed.

“My coach has given me a bit of down time so I can spend a bit of time with my family. Last year, I trained on Christmas day but I’m not this year.

“We have not done a secret santa with my training group. To be honest my group hasn’t really been in the Christmas spirit.”
