World renowned diving coach Jane Figueiredo, coach to Olympic champion Tom Daley, will take part in a Q&A session at the UK Athletics Indoor Championships at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham on Sunday 19 February. The event, hosted by UK Athletics in partnership with the Female Coaching Network, will take place from 1330-1430 in ‘Coaches Corner’.

Figueiredo is a former Olympic diver and multi-medal winning coach who most recently coached Daley, alongside his teammate Matty Lee, to gold in the men’s synchronised 10m platform at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Throughout her 30+ year coaching career she has had major success coaching athletes at the highest level. Her 24-year tenure at the University of Houston (USA) included 12 consecutive conference Diving Coach of the Year honours and four NCAA Diving Coach of the Year awards. Her divers won multiple NCAA championships at Houston, including Olympic silver medallist Anastasia Pozdniakova who won the 1m title in 2008-2009 and 2009-2010. In total, her divers won eight NCAA titles and 51 All-American honours across 24 seasons.

In 2014, Figueiredo moved to the UK to take on the role of head diving coach at the high performance diving centre in London. Since then, she has guided British divers to European, world and Olympic medals, most notably Daley who has won three Olympic medals, five world medals, six European medals and three Commonwealth Games medals under her guidance.
