Coaching Conference

02 July 2009

UKA’s Strategic Head of Coaching & Development Kevin Tyler is urging female coaches to take part in the Women’s Coaching Conference on 25 July in London.

The event, which takes place the morning before events kick off for day two at Crystal Palace will bring together some of the world’s top female coaching talent to discuss how to build a better environment for women interested in coaching.

Tyler said:

“One of the more appealing aspects of athletics is how it brings together people from a range of physical, emotional and cultural backgrounds.  Diversity is integral to our sport and it is a feature that should be embraced and encouraged.  In the field of coaching it is crucial that we have a diverse community of coaches possessing a wide array of experiences.

“In this spirit I am proud to announce the UKA Women’s Coaching Conference to be held the morning of July 25th in London.  This event will form one of a series of initiatives directed at creating a better, more inclusive environment for athletics coaches in the UK.  I strongly encourage all interested female coaches to register and participate in this event, as it is only through feedback and interaction with the coaching community that we develop a world class environment.”

"I look forward to meeting a number of you on the 25th."
