Olympic bronze medallist Tasha Danvers has been nominated for a role on the prestigious European Athletics Athlete Commission alongside 14 past and present starts of the sport including; Decathlon superstar Roman Sebrle of the Czech Republic and reigning Olympic Heptathlon champion Nataliya Dobrynska of the Ukraine.

The 400m hurdles expert was nominated by UKA and accepted by European Athletics based on her impressive athletics career, which spans over a decade, and services to the sport through work with grassroots athletics schemes including the Aviva UKA Academy.

The commission, which is elected every four years, is currently chaired by Swedish high jump star Stefan Holm and Mikaela Ingberg of Finland and also includes World triple jump record holder Johnathan Edwards in the position of European Athletics Council liaison.

The election for the term 2010-2014 will take place during the European Athletics Championships to be held in Barcelona between July 26 and 1 August.
