Dasaolu Determined For Moscow

James Dasaolu (coach: Steve Fudge) has apologised to athletics fans who were disappointed in his withdrawal with a tight hip flexor from the Sainsbury’s Anniversary Games 100m.

Yet the Croydon Harrier is determined that Moscow is by far the most important target for him this summer.

Dasaolu said: “It is so disappointing I couldn’t be a part of tonight’s show and I’m sorry for those who were looking forward to the race. Everything was lined up for a great race but the tightness in my hip during warm-up couldn’t be ignored.

“I am running fast this summer because I have made smart decisions with my coach over the last 18 months and we’re not going to change that approach with the World Championships just two weeks away.

“Come Moscow I’ll be ready to go because we have made tough decisions like the one we made tonight.”
