Different Name, Same World Class Athletics

29 April 2008

Rebranding Norwich Union’s sponsorship of UK Athletics to Aviva is part of the brand migration revealed in an announcement by Aviva’s group chief executive Andrew Moss today.

The change of branding over the next two years is designed to ensure that Aviva maximises the benefits of its long-standing investment in the sport

The popularity of the Major Event series televised on the BBC has seen the number of countries broadcasting the events more than double in the last four years.  We are anticipating that this summer’s events will be broadcast to more than 150 countries globally and with Aviva operating in 27 markets, we are working with our number one sponsor to rebrand the televised events under their global customer brand from this summer so they can optimise the benefit of their investment globally.

Although you’ll see a different name, but the same world class events at the:

  • Aviva London Grand Prix, Crystal Palace, 25 & 26 July

The Great Britain and Northern Ireland Team and grassroots athletics programmes will continue to be Norwich Union branded for the remainder of 2008 and will be re-branded in 2009.
