DOMESTIC COMPETITION UPDATE

Following the guidance issued last week (April 29), the Competition Strategy Group (CSG) would like to update you on some of the progress that is being made behind closed doors during these challenging times.

During these unprecedented times it has become increasingly difficult to protect our 2020 fixtures calendar, and as such, regrettably we have lost, and still may lose, some very important competitions. The CSG remain committed to working with competition providers, the Home Country Federations and the Athletics Athletes Commission and are meeting on a weekly basis to discuss changes in line with the latest government guidelines in order to provide a competition framework at all levels.

We are also receiving updates from the Global Calendar Unit planning team as International level fixture changes could still affect our National Championships and global level televised meeting dates.

The health and wellbeing of athletes and our athletics family remains our number one priority, however we recognise the important role domestic competition plays within our sport. We thank you for your continued patience throughout this period and would like to remind you to observe the government guidance when it comes to your training plans outside the home.
