UK Athletics is delighted to share the news that Vice President and Equality, Diversity & Engagement Lead Donna Fraser has been nominated for the Inspirational Role Model award at the European Diversity Awards.

Since taking up the position of Equality, Diversity & Engagement Lead in January of this year, Donna has created and led the UKA strategy for equality and diversity while instilling the organisation values into all working practises. Donna is also working towards the delivery of UK Athletics’ exclusive photographic exhibition, entitled COACH, to celebrate BAME coaches and role-models during Black History Month

UK Athletics Chief Executive, Niels de Vos said:

“Though she was already a key figurehead within UK Athletics as Vice President, the impact Donna has made since taking up the position of Equality, Diversity & Engagement Lead at the start of 2017 has been clear to see; to have someone with her experience and expertise in the role is a significant benefit to UK Athletics.”

“Not only is nomination for the Inspirational Role Model award at the European Diversity Awards richly deserved, but it is also indicative of the great work she has undertaken, of which I’m sure there is much more to come.”

Due to be held in London on November 16, with awards evening – which has been running since 2010 – will see honours presented to individuals, groups and companies whose dedication to diversity has been outstanding in the past twelve months.
